History:

(The Ferret II#9 (fb) - BTS) - Deathsong was assigned as the personal bodyguard of Hikari, mistress to Tai Chung, head of the Purple Dragons criminal empire.

(The Ferret II#9 (fb)) - Seeking to bring the criminal overlord Tai Chung to justice, the cyborg Iron Skull tried to kidnap his mistress to bait the criminal, but she was protected by Deathsong. The bodyguard brutally slashed away at the cyborg before he could react and Iron Skull fled badly injured to the apartment of his friend, Cal Denton (Ferret).

(The Ferret II#9) - Ordered by Hikari to retrieve Iron Skull so that Tai Chung could watch the cyborg slowly die in retaliation, Deathsong trailed the cyborg and smashed through the window. A savage brawl followed between Deathsong and Ferret, which ended when the ninja threw a grenade at Ferret, distracting the hero long enough so Deathsong could escape with Iron Skull. Via Iron Skull's inbuilt radio, Ferret prompted Deathsong to a tower rooftop meeting, where he showed Deathsong that he had kidnapped Hikari while she was unguarded. A brutal fight between Deathsong and Ferret followed and again Deathsong distracted Ferret by letting the bound Iron Skull fall from the high rooftop while he and Hikari escaped.

(Protectors#20) - Planet Earth (i.e., Earth-1136) exploded, most likely killing Deathsong as well.

I'm not sure if it's his hair ponytailed or a flourish on the head of his costume.

He may have been behind the scenes in Hikari's first appearance in The Ferret I#1
