History: (Excalibur I#59 (fb) - BTS) - During a period in which England's Excalibur superhero team was busy with supervillains, secret arms dealer Sir Raleigh Chamberlain's underworld dealings flourished.

(Excalibur I#59) - While at the opera, Sir Raleigh Chamberlain bought drinks for Nightcrawler and his date, Cerise, and when he was pointed out as the man who sent the drinks, Nightcrawler recognized Raleigh as a flamboyant arms dealer. As Nightcrawler looked over, Raleigh raised his glass and smiled, taunting Nightcrawler with the fact that Excalibur had recently been so busy with Vixen and Sat-Yr-9 that they had not the time for the lower echelons of the criminal underworld. An energy blast from the criminal Knight Errant soon surprised Raleigh and knocked his date from the balcony and, as Nightcrawler rescued Raleigh's date, Raleigh promised to be gone by dawn. Upon hearing Raleigh's remarks, Nightcrawler commented that at least some good had come from the Knight Errant's attack.

Sir Raleigh Chamberlain's eye color was impossible to determine as he was only ever seen in shadow or squinting. His height and weight were impossible to approximate as the only time he was near any character whose height and weight had been officially determined, he was kneeling.
