History:

(Hulk and Power Pack#1 (fb) - BTS) - Absorbing Man developed the ability to take on the physical properties of anything he touches. He embarked on a criminal career that saw him fight the Avengers and the Hulk. One recent criminal enterprise caused him to hide underground away from police in a subway station.

(Hulk and Power Pack#1) - Thinking himself found out, Absorbing Man swung his ball and chain at a subway train, coincidentally occupied by Bruce Banner and the Power children. Banner covertly transformed into the Hulk while the Power children transformed into the super-hero team Power Pack. Overconfident, Absorbing Man initially transformed into rock, but interference from the child super team helped the Hulk, who crushed Absorbing Man's ball. The villain touched a nearby train track, becoming steel alloy, but Hulk still smashed him unconscious as the children watched on. Police arrived and the villain was led away handcuffed after Hulk had changed back to Banner.

(Iron Man and Power Pack#3-4) - Puppet Master had crafted many miniature versions of super-powered individuals, including Absorbing Man, intending to use them some day to control the real-life versions for his own nefarious ends.

Comments: Earth-616 Absorbing Man originally created by Stan Lee (writer), Jack Kirby (pencils), Chic Stone (inks). Earth-5631 version adapted by Marc Sumerak (writer), David Williams (pencils), Gary Martin (inks).

Absorbing Man appears as a "boss" challenge in the Hulk handheld game "Hulk: Gamma Rampage" played by Jack Power in the same issue, so he clearly has a reputation as a Hulk villain on Earth-5631.

His physical stats are taken from his Earth-616 counterpart due to their distinct likenesses.
