History: (Wolverine & the X-Men I#31 (fb) - BTS) - Wendigo was recruited into Kade Kilgore's Hellfire Academy as a Danger Room instructor, of sorts. Wendigo was also tasked with "teaching a class" on Senseless Destruction of Property.

(Wolverine & the X-Men I#20) - Wendigo accompanied Kade Kilgore and the rest of his Hellfire Academy faculty recruits to visit the Ledbetter home in Alabama, where Kade recruited the mutant Mudbug into the Hellfire Academy.

(Wolverine & the X-Men I#31) - In one of Wendigo's Danger Room "classes," Wendigo grumbled and picked up the student Snot by the leg as Kid Omega and Oya watched. Wendigo later watched from a tree as Kid Omega was tasked with fighting Snot. When Snot sneezed mucus on Kid Omega, Kid Omega responded by telepathically downing Snot, prompting Wendigo to venture from his tree and grab Snot. Hall monitor Philistine then ordered Snot to the principal's office and Wendigo drug Snot off to the principal's office.

(Wolverine & the X-Men I#34) - When the X-Men stormed the Hellfire Academy to retrieve their runaway students, Beast jumped into battle against Wendigo, choking the creature, prompting a scream.

(Wolverine & the X-Men I#35) - Wendigo continued the fight against the X-Men up until the Hellfire Academy exploded, at which point Wendigo was launched out into the waters surrounding the Hellfire Academy. As the X-Men and their students were rescued by the living land mass called Krakoa, Wendigo was still in the waters, fighting off hordes of small, teleporting Bamf creatures.

(Avengers V#9 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Wendigo was found and recruited onto the Canadian Department H's new Omega Flight team.

(Avengers V#9) - Omega Flight members Wendigo, Validator and Kingdom were sent to Regina, Canada to investigate an Origin Bomb site whose biosphere had been completely changed by the Bomb.

(Avengers V#10 (fb)) - Omega Flight again traveled to the Regina Origin Bomb site, where Wendigo and his teammates were given authorization to use lethal force if necessary. After Boxx determined the newly-created pods to be chrysalis chambers, Omega Flight attempted contact with the pods. Upon contact, Boxx was destroyed and Wendigo was infected by the pods, which wrapped around his arms and legs and pulled the creature apart.

(Avengers V#10 - BTS) - A month later, the Avengers watched the camera footage of the incident involving Wendigo and Omega Flight's deaths and decided to investigate themselves.

Comments: Created by Jason Aaron and Steve Sanders.

BIG thanks for MarvellousLuke for pointing out that Jason Aaron had intended the Wendigo teaching at the Hellfire Academy to be an entirely new Wendigo host, which confirms that the Hellfire Academy Wendigo was not the same as the one who joined Canada's Alpha Strike. It's very possible that the heroic Wendigo on the Omega Flight team in Avengers V#9-10 could be a new Wendigo as well but without confirmation, I am choosing to treat that one as the same one who taught at the Hellfire Academy for the sake of this profile. If confirmation is later made, I will adjust this profile as needed.

Wendigo's human physical stats were impossible to determine, as he was never seen in human form.

Profile by Proto-Man.
