History: (Avengers VI#690) - After a defeat by the Avengers, the Black Order traveled to the planet Angargal in the E-Wing Cluster star system, where they traversed the Wai Desert and discussed their defeat. The Elder of the Universe Grandmaster soon appeared in the Desert, offering the Black Order an opportunity better suited for their destructive needs.

The Wai Desert was likely named as a homage to its co-creator, writer Mark Waid (or Mark "Wai D"-esert).
