History:

(Marvel Mangaverse: X-Men (fb)) - Amanda Sefton was once part of a powerful coven of witches. Sefton's hunger for power grew along with the coven. She began to rely on dark magic in an attempt to quickly increase her arcane abilities. This made her arrogant, taking risks other mystics wouldn't attempt. One night she summoned the electromagnetic demon Magnus, but proved unable to contain his powers. As a result, the evil of Magnus was unleashed upon the coven. Only she and Storm (another one of the witches) were able to fend him off and cast a spell rendering him powerless. They then combined their powers to banish Magnus to the electromagnetic field where his spirit would be held captive. With nowhere else to turn, Wolverine asked Amanda and Storm to join his X-Men. She turned him down however, feeling her magic had put her in a class above humans and mutants.

(Marvel Mangaverse: X-Men) - Rogue had been contacted by Magnus. The electromagnetic demon allowed her to touch others again, which left her feeling obligated to aid him. Rogue sought out Amanda, figuring she could help Magnus gain a real human body.

(Marvel Mangaverse: X-Men (fb) - BTS) - Unwilling to give her old enemy the chance to terrorize Earth, Amanda went along while looking for a way to destroy him. Knowing the electromagnetic demon could be contained with metal, she planned to kidnap Colossus and offer his metallic form as the Magnus' host.

(Marvel Mangaverse: X-Men) - Aware the X-Men were searching for their missing teammate, Sefton sent her associates the Azure to attack them while she prepared for the final stage of Magnus' resurrection. Just as Storm entered the room, Sefton successfully placed Magnus' spirit in the body of Colossus. Sefton however didn't let up and tried to use her magics to kill Magnus. She failed, and the demon used his magnetic powers to kill Sefton with several steel bars. It would ultimately take Rogue with the powers of Jean Grey and Storm to free Colossus from the demon.

Due to the Asian specific nature of the Mangaverse reality, it goes without saying that while characters might look similar to their 616 counterparts, they most likely will have distinctly different names, codenames or powers. Therefore we will only list the names when they have been used in the comics.

On Earth-616, Amanda Sefton's real name is Jimaine Szardos.
