History:

(Ultraverse Origins trading card #88 (fb) - BTS) - Lee Stanton lived a happy life as a lieutenant in the Los Angeles SWAT team. He had friends and a steady girlfriend, but dreamed of having super-powers.

(Ultraverse Masters trading card #60 (fb) - BTS) - The powerful being known as Rex Mundi believed great power could corrupt a misguided person.

(Ultraverse Masters trading card #54 (fb) - BTS) - Rex Mundi gave him ultra powers, making his skin rock hard with incredible strength. But Mundi intended Stanton to be a pawn in his game against The Alternate. Codenamed Rubble, Stanton clobbered criminals for Mundi's private agenda, but was countered by the assassin Smoke.

Great 1990s design -- lots of handy small pouches for ... something.

Of all the various Ultraverse characters that never reached an in-comic story, I think I wish for Smoke and Rubble the most.

He was also dubbed the "Man of Granite" on his card.
