Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Orbit-Engine controlled the dimensional frequency of Counter-Earth. It could be adjusted to alter Counter-Earth's frequency, effectively allowing the entire planet to enter a phased-like state where it could pass through solid matter.
















History: (Avengers VI#674) - During a battle against the High Evolutionary, the Avengers and Champions battled some of the High Evolutionary's New Men while Viv Vision investigated further, soon finding the High Evolutionary's genetic "son," the Higher Evolutionary, affixed to the Orbit-Engine. After revealing his origins, the Higher Evolutionary explained that he had bound himself to the Orbit-Engine to guard the heart of Counter-Earth after the High Evolutionary had cast him into the planetary depths. Still chained to the Orbit-Engine, the Higher Evolutionary refused to let Viv Vision touch the Orbit-Engine, thinking she was tricking him on behalf of the High Evolutionary, but Viv pleaded with the Higher Evolutionary, explaining how the Orbit-Engine was the only thing that could keep Counter-Earth from colliding with Earth. Reluctantly agreeing to help Viv, the Higher Evolutionary broke free of the Orbit-Engine and showed her the way into the Orbit-Engine's control center. Revealing that only he could survive being inside the Orbit-Engine, the Higher Evolutionary soon rescinded his agreement when he saw the Avengers and Champions arrive and incorrectly assumed an attack. While the Avengers and Champions battled the Higher Evolutionary, Viv Vision entered the Orbit-Engine herself and adjusted the frequency of Counter-Earth's planetary alignment, effectively phasing the entire planet through the Earth and preventing the destruction of either planet. Unfortunately, the act of entering the Orbit-Engine seemingly cost Viv her life, as the Higher Evolutionary had warned, and she phased away as Vision reached for her.
