History: (Doctor Strange & the Sorcerers
Supreme I#12 - BTS) - An inter-dimensional psycho-pomp appeared in New
York and began feeding on souls in the Washington Heights area. When
Dr. Strange (and his two allies Demon Rider and the Mindful
One) returned from a mission involving Yao (the young counterpart
of Strange's mentor, the Ancient One), Strange was stopped by Zelma
Stanton, who demanded to know where Strange had been and announced that
there was no time for introductions, as the inter-dimensional
psycho-pomp was feeding on souls. Strange only replied "perfect" before
grabbing an axe and heading out to stop the inter-dimensional
psycho-pomp.

The inter-dimensional psycho-pomp was never actually
seen on-panel, only mentioned. It was, however, mentioned as "an
inter-dimensional psycho-pomp," suggesting that there may be more than
one out there.
