Historyguzman-tulio-hawkeye-face2.jpg
(Avengers: Solo#3 (fb) - BTS) - Tulio went down to take care of his sister, Marcia, when she began
to feel sick for over a week, as if she had a bad flu; Marcia had participated in a paid (secretly funded by Power Broker Inc.) research study in which she had secretly been given a formula intended to give her super-powered children but instead inducing superhuman powers in her.

(Avengers: Solo#3 (fb) - BTS) - After Power Broker agents tried to capture Marcia, she went into hiding, changing her name to Alicia; she joined with other test subjects Melanie, Jake (formerly Nita Young), and Emi Ishida to investigate the research and find other victims. Power Broker made it seem that Captain America was involved with the research, leading the team to distrust super-heroes. At some point, the former test subjects acquired an exoskeleton and wore it as Trace to assist in their investigation.

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tulio somehow became associated with Melanie, knowing she was working with "Marcia."

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tulio compiled a computer disc of all the information he had on the research project, as well as a photograph of "Marcia."

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Apparently knowing that the exoskeleton-wearing Trace was associated with his missing sister but not realizing she was one of the ones to wear the armor, Tulio apparently threatened to go to the police when Trace refused to take him to see Marcia. Trace tried to force Tulio not to do this, and Tulio fled down an alley off 11th avenue by the Hudson river.

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb)) - Trace pursued Tulio down an alley, ultimately blasting him off his feet to make him stop running. While Tuli argued that he had a right to know, Trace told him that he knew too much already, and that his sister didn't want him to get hurt. When Hawkeye interrupted the confrontation, Trace warned him that the situation was none of his business. After a brief confrontation, Trace generated a blinding flash of light and vanished.

Tulio took advantage of the distraction to flee as well, but Hawkeye chased him down, ignoring Tulio's plea that this was personal and nothing Hawkeye needed to worry about. After Hawkeye explained the nature and obligation of his career, Tulio thanked him, but refused to talk, and Hawkeye let him walk away.guzman-tulio-hawkeye-death.jpg

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tulio met with Mel, and she agreed to meet with Hawkeye, but not with any of the other Avengers.

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Hawkeye returned to Avengers mansion, but was unable to track down any information on Tulio's armored pursuant.

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb)) - Tulio then showed up at Avengers mansion, telling Hawkeye how his sister had disappeared six months earlier and that he knew someone had done something to her. He further told Hawkeye that he had spoken to his sister's friend (Melanie?) and they wanted to work with Hawkeye. Tulio shared that his sister was Marcia Guzman but that he thought she had changed her name. Tulio had a disk with all the information on it, but he couldn't go to the police. He started to tell Hawkeye how it had all started at Great Northern University where Marcia was in law school, but when Iron Man walked in, Tulio shut down. He told Hawkeye that they (Tulio and Melanie?) had agreed that only Hawkeye could be involved, and he gave Hawkeye a note marked "Sherman Hotel Room 719" and asked him to meet them there tonight.

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Amongst what Tulio gave to Hawkeye was a picture of Marcia and also told him to contact the Hanover Modeling Agency (run by Millie Collins).

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Presumably ordered by Angela Golden and/or Dr. Seth Forrest, Chance killed Tulio in his hotel room, leaving an arrow in his back along with an arrow-perforated note stating "AVENGE THIS!"

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb)) -Hawkeye showed up at the Sherman Hotel room 719, only to find Tulio dead, with an arrow in his back.

(Avengers: Solo#1 (fb) - BTS) - Hawkeye called the authorities and waited for them to arrive.

(Avengers: Solo#1) - After Hawkeye related the event to the authorities, they left the scene to let forensics in.

(Avengers: Solo#1 - BTS) - Hawkeye agreed to avoid the crime scene and provide a copy of the disc to the authorities. He then left to check for further clues.

Hawkeye was then ambushed by Power Broker agent Chance, who was, in turn, assaulted by Trace. Blaming Trace for the killing, Hawkeye attacked him; Trace denied the implication, after which Hawkeye subdued the attacking Chance, while Trace escaped.

Comments: Created by Jen Van Meter and Roger Robinson.

I'm not sure how Tulio got involved with Mel or with Trace...I had thought it was Alicia in the Trace armor when Trace chased Tulio down the alley at the start of the story, but Markus Raymond was kind enough to explain to me how/why it had to be Emi.

In #3, Mel says, to Hawkeye, "Tuli saw you there. At the tower. He was sure you could be trusted."
At what tower? Tuli saw Hawkeye in the alley and then met him at Avengers mansion (maybe, even though it was called Avengers mansion, it would have been Avengers Tower at the time of this story?).
This story is REALLY hard to follow...

I'm also not sure where Port Walford is, but Tulio came down to see Marcia, so it's north of wherever that was...
