Powers/Abilities: The "giant orange monster"
had superhuman size and durability, sufficient enough to easily
withstand Hawkeye's explosive-tipped arrows and impacts from Captain
America's hurled shield. It presumably had strength to match its size
but it never displayed superhuman strength during its brief attack on
land.

History:
(Avengers VI#2.1) - A giant orange monster rose out of the sea, sending
panic through fleeing beach-goers and drawing the attention of the
Avengers. The still-new roster of Avengers battled the monster, with
Quicksilver running and hitting the monster to no avail and Hawkeye
firing an explosive arrow at the monster, unconcerned with Quicksilver
being in the line of fire. Quicksilver ducked the arrow and berated the
arrogant Hawkeye while Captain America hurled his shield at the
monster, also to no effect. Using her hex powers, Scarlet Witch
uprooted beach umbrellas and hurled them at the monster, who barely
noticed the umbrellas, but when bystanders began calling the new
Avengers roster pathetic, Quicksilver sought to prove himself and
skidded on the beach, spraying sand into the monster's face, briefly
distracting the monster as it recovered its vision. In the distraction,
Scarlet Witch focused her powers on the sea itself, creating a
whirlpool that churned into a water spout that hurled the monster far
out into the ocean, defeating it. Following the creature's defeat,
Quicksilver asked what it was and Captain America replied that it was
likely an Atlantean refugee that they could've defeated faster if they
had worked together better.
