History:

(X-Treme X-Men I#5 (fb) - BTS) - The Examiner was chief and advisor to crimelord Gow Yang Ju who regarded him as his most trusted friend.

(X-Treme X-Men I#9 (fb) - BTS) - Although having a great position within the criminal empire, the Examiner dreamed of ruling all of Australia's crime syndicates. To do so, he allied himself with the powerful Sebastian Shaw.

(X-Treme X-Men I#5 - BTS) - Sebastian Shaw had Lady Mastermind (Regan Wyngarde) use her telepathic illusionary powers to assassinate the Triad's Viceroy (Miles Warbeck) and frame X-Man Gambit for his death.

(X-Treme X-Men I#5) - The Examiner met up with crime lord Gow Yang Ju to discuss the death of the Viceroy hoping to persuade him the Triad had to show its power now, with Gow becoming the new Viceroy. To get Father Gow elected, they would have to eliminate the Viceroy's chief heirs: his children. Unbeknownst to them Gambit was hot on their trail in an effort to prove his innocence. His fellow X-Man Rogue in turn was following Gambit to get some answers for the alleged murder. Later that night Father Gow learned of Gambit and Rogue's presence in his Golden Harbor restaurant and ordered his men to kill them. The Examiner took advantage of the chaos to murder Father Gow and make it look like Gambit killed him. Next, he alerted Father Gow's grandson Red Lotus to the death and proceeded to manipulate him to do his bidding. The Triad used a special piece of technology to nullify Gambit and Rogue's mutant abilities, allowing Red Lotus to easily defeat them both. The Examiner then revealed his presence, explaining he intended to learn of their secrets.

(X-Treme X-Men I#6) - To keep up the ruse and further influence Red Lotus the Examiner had the two X-Men bound in chains. He used his needles to perform a very specific form of acupuncture to torture both Rogue and Gambit, which made Red Lotus feel very uncomfortable. But when Rogue used her last bit of strength to plead they were not the enemy and would want to help apprehend the actual assassin, Red Lotus ordered the Examiner to stop, thinking they could be allies. Afraid they would eventually find out he was responsible for the murders, the Examiner turned on Red Lotus, quickly hitting specific areas of his body with needles to render the boy unconscious. But before the Examiner could continue the torture, Rogue was able to spit one of his needles back at him, striking a part of his body that caused him so much pain he'd fled the scene by the time the X-Men had freed themselves.

(X-Treme X-Men I#7 - BTS) - The recent murders of Gow and Warbeck threw the Sydney underworld in disarray, leading to a gang war. The Examiner decided to use the chaos to order the assassination of Viceroy Warbeck's heirs: Davis and Heather Cameron. However, they were rescued by Storm and Thunderbird. In another part of Sydney the Russian cossacks gang had been massacred, possibly on the Examiner's orders.

(X-Treme X-Men I#9 - BTS) - The Examiner became part of the Triad's ruling council.

(X-Treme X-Men I#9) - Having secured enough evidence to out the Examiner, Gambit and Red Lotus joined forces to stop the man. After gaining entrance to the Triad's headquarters the Examiner was pleased to see Red Lotus had brought the accused before the ruling council, unaware of Lotus' true motives. Red Lotus then went on to deliver convincing evidence the Examiner was the true assassin. Realizing the jig was up, the Examiner threw several needles towards Red Lotus who caught them with his briefcase after which Gambit took the man down. In the aftermath, the Triad declared they were in Red Lotus and the X-Men's debt and that they would deal with the Examiner accordingly.

Comments: Created by Chris Claremont (writer), Salvador Larroca (pencils, inks).

The Examiner was most likely executed by the Triad for his crimes. Unless they found his talents useful, of course.
