History: (X-Men Millennial Visions - "Duty Calls" (fb) - BTS) - In the far future, after Earth had become a peacekeeping planet, the X-Men were split into multiple two-man squads designed to protect the cosmos. Duty dictated that every superbeing donate their services to the peace efforts and, having triumphed over mutant prejudice, the X-Men were first in line to donate their services.
(X-Men Millennial Visions - "Duty Calls") - One such
squad of X-Men, Jubilee, whose powers expanded to allow her to affect
damage on a molecular level, and Wolverine, wearing an Adamantium
cybernetic suit that enhanced his speed and strength, patrolled the
Shi'ar outer rim territories, protecting aliens from Brood-Kree
attacks. Another squad included Cable, whose techno-organic virus had
overtaken his entire body, and Storm, now able to control planetary
weather, were in charge of controlling the weather patterns of Venus
and Mars so that the planets could sustain human life after having
stopped the Dire Wraiths from destroying Mars. Both squads soon learned
of a new mystery involving an old friend who waited for the perfect
moment to strike. Unaware of this new threat's identity, the X-Men
continued to battle threats to interstellar peace.
