First Appearance: X-Men Millennial Visions (August, 2000)

History: (X-Men Millennial Visions - "In His Professor's Secret Service" (fb) - BTS) - When Valerie Cooper was elected President, her pro-mutant stance saw her seeking peace between mutants and humans. With her first act, President Cooper ended the trade embargo with Magneto's Genosha and called for a peace summit between mutants and humans. Unfortunately at the summit, Magneto, his son Quicksilver and President Cooper herself were killed, with the anti-mutant Friends of Humanity claiming responsibility. Following Magneto and Quicksilver's funerals, the X-Men became public representatives of mutantkind as Vice President Carl Denti called for a new summit. Shortly thereafter, the X-Men learned that Magneto had named Charles Xavier his successor in Genosha and both human and mutantkind accepted Xavier's taking over the Genoshan reigns.

(X-Men Millennial Visions - "In His Professor's Secret Service") - When the Friends of Humanity promised more anti-mutant attacks and with Xavier now an obvious target for the terrorists, the X-Men took to becoming Professor X's bodyguards, leading him quietly down a conference hall and protecting him from three assassination attempts at that very conference.

Comments: Created by John Paul Leon.

To clarify who is who, the X-Men are (from top left, going clockwise): Storm, Rogue, Jean Grey, Psylocke, two shadowed members (based on the outlines, I'd guess the one in the background is Colossus and the one in the foreground is Cyclops), Nightcrawler (though I suppose it could also be Beast with a different hairstyle...hard to tell for sure), Kitty Pryde and Professor X. In actuality, Charles Xavier is the only X-Man mentioned by name and none of the others are identified at all, but many can be identified fairly easily if you know your X-Men. :)

Profile by Proto-Man.
