History:

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1 (fb) - BTS) - Some time ago Henrik's mother died. It took a toll on his father, who had severe heart problems.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1 (fb) ) - Henrik was a sixteen-year-old German boy, who fell in love with a Gypsy girl named Trista, but she wasn't ready to further their relationship.

Henrik met a girl at a party and she was ready to give in to his desires. Trista caught them in the act and it deeply hurt her feelings.

Henrik went to Trista's family to apologize, but Trista didn't even want to talk to him anymore. Instead her grandmother approached Henrik and cursed him. Henrik couldn't understand what she was saying, but he understood that he was not welcome anymore at Trista's family.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1 (fb) - BTS) - The curse caused a terrible transformation over the night, turning Henrik into the demonic-looking Vielfras.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1 (fb) ) - When Henrik woke up his screams alarmed his father, who died of an heart attack, when he saw his son as Vielfras. The villagers were also alarmed by Henrik's screams and gave him no chance to explain himself when they saw him. Since then they hunted Vielfras, blaming him for the disappearance of Henrik and his father's death.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1 (fb) - BTS) - Trista's family had moved on preventing Henrik from asking her grandmother to reverse the curse.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1) - After villagers told Nightcrawler, who was invited to the opening of the Nightcrawler Museum in Winzeldorf, told him about the Vielfras, the Vielfras crashed through the glass ceiling and attacked. Nightcrawler protected the innocent from the monster, which fled after getting stabbed through the shoulder.

That night Nightcrawler found Vielfras eating a deer in the woods and attacked him, in believe he Vielfras was eating a human. When Vielfras explained himself Nightcrawler believed him and listened to how Vielfras had become a monster. Shortly after villagers attacked and after Nightcrawler got shot Vielfras gave in to his rage and assaulted them. Nightcrawler stopped him from killing anybody by telling Vielfras to not become the monster people believed him to be. Nightcrawler took a young girl and old man to safety.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1 - BTS) - Using one of the villagers' guns Vielfras committed suicide, shooting himself in the head.

(X-Men: Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler#1) - When Nightcrawler returned Vielfras was already dead. Mephisto appeared to claim the souls of Vielfras and the twelve bloodthirsty men, who had died fighting Vielfras.

Comments: Created by James Asmus (writer), Jorge Molina & Ardian Syaf (pencils), Victor Olazaba & Vicente Cifuentes (inks).

Vielfras usually written with a "ß" at the end or "ss" can be translated as glutton. Fun fact: It can also be translated as a small Canadian animal known as Wolverine! Glutton is more likely!

BTW an "s" was added in the German translation of the story to correct his name to the proper German Vielfrass.
