History:
(X-Men II#106 - BTS) - This young and reckless mutant was chosen by a disguised Mystique to become a trainee for her new Brotherhood of Mutants. He was given the codename Sabre, in reference to the original Super Sabre (Martin Fletcher), a deceased member of Mystique's Freedom Force.
(X-Men II#106) - Sabre and fellow new recruit Crimson Commando were seen training with the more experienced Brotherhood members Blob and Avalanche at their Monogehela Vally base, an abandoned steel mill. Mystique purposefully kept her true identity a secret, calling them promising but untested neophytes.

When Mystique and her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants appeared next in Uncanny X-Men I#388 and Cable II#87 in an assassination attempt on Senator Kelly, their new recruits weren't amongst them. And never again for that matter.
