History:
(Rawhide Kid III#1 (fb)) - Born 1853, Tim McCain grew into a brash, overconfident but able gunfighter. In 1872 in Laramie, he was involved in a gunfight, shooting and killing six people. Also young, Rawhide Kid confronted McCain, who drew his guns against his opponent, but Rawhide Kid was faster and killed him.
(Rawhide Kid III#1 (fb) - BTS) - Laramie townsfolk thanked Rawhide Kid for stopping McCain, but beyond the town limits, the incident contributed to the Kid being labeled an outlaw.
