History:
(Infinity Crusade#2 - BTS) - Sophie Grimm was the sister of Jacob and Daniel Grimm, and her nephew Benjamin Grimm's favorite aunt growing up.
(Infinity Crusade#2 (fb) ) - When Ben Grimm was eight years old, his aunt Sophie was diagnosed with an inoperable and incurable form of cancer. After visiting her with his parents Daniel and Elsi, young Ben figured he could cure her by praying to God for help. When Sophie succumbed to the disease a few days later, her distraught nephew cursed out God after the funeral.
(Infinity Crusade#2) - During the Goddess crisis, the Thing revealed how his reaction to Sophie's death was most likely the reason the Goddess didn't recruit him for her army of slavishly devout superheroes.

Poor Sophie but, poor Ben as well...He lost both his
favorite aunt and his older brother Daniel when he was eight. That's
bound to have an impact, even if later on in life he developed a pretty,
erm, thick skin.
