History:

(B-Sides#2 (fb) ) - Kane Tucker was the best friend of Charley Huckle when they were young. Tucker somehow gained the power to control Darkforce as a child and took down bullies with ease, Charley suggested Tucker should become a super hero.

(B-Sides#2 (fb) - BTS) - Convinced by Charley Tucker eventually became the hero Doctor Dark (he was not a real doctor, which made a few people mad).

(B-Sides#1 (fb) - BTS) - Doctor Dark was the first super hero since Captain Electric in Raven's Perch, New Jersey.

(B-Sides#2 (fb) ) - Despite catching criminals he was mocked by the police and others, who called him Doctor Dork. Things got worse when the Daily Bugle mistook him for the criminal Dr. Octopus, claiming the famous villain had become a hero when they heard about Doctor Dark's heroics in Raven's Perch.

(B-Sides#2 (fb) ) - After leaving Raven's Perch for New York Doctor Dark developed a drinking problem. Because he kept wearing his costume into bars he got into fights and at one point broke some guy's nose. The victim pressed charges and Tucker got arrested.

(B-Sides#2 (fb) - BTS) - Tucker skipped bail and fled to Raven's Perch to get revenge on Charley Huckle, who he blamed for all his proeblms. Meanwhile Charley Huckle, who knew the lady who posted Tucker's bail bond, contacted her and she hired Huckle's new clients the B-Sides to capture Tucker. When the B-Sides didn't take it seriously Huckle exaggerated a bit, telling them that Tucker had critically injured two police officers, putting one of them into a coma. (see comments)

(B-Sides#2) - The B-Sides found Doctor Dark drinking at the local bowling alley waiting for Huckle to turn up. They bought some drinks and talked to him, learning about his history with Huckle. When the barman told the B-Sides, who he had seen with Huckle a day ago, to give him a message from the bail bond woman, Doctor Dark attacked the B-Sides. He fought them outside the bowling alley and nearly defeated them single-handedly. When the Fantastic Four arrived to talk to the B-Sides' Jughandle Invisible Woman trapped Doctor Dark inside a force field, saving the B-Sides from any further attacks.

(B-Sides#3) - Doctor Dark was arrested by the local authorities.

(B-Sides#3 - BTS) - Charley Huckle negotiated with Mr. Fantastic how much of the bounty belonged to the B-Sides. When Thing saw that the B-Sides were wearing bowling shirts as costumes he told Mr. Fantastic to just give them the whole bounty because the B-Sides obviously needed the money. Charley then made sure that the press gave the B-Sides joint credit with the Fantastic Four for capturing Doctor Dark.

Comments: Created by Brian David-Marshall (writer), Brett Weldele (artist) & Evan Dorkin (character design).

It is unknown if Doctor Dark was a mutant or mutate or something else completely, but the source of his power was Darkforce.

Though it made it into the B-Sides' handbook profile Tucker never actually injured any police officers. Charley Huckle admitted he was just exaggerating when he told the B-Sides about the injured policemen because he wanted their attention.
