History: (Ghost Rider III#70 (fb) - BTS) - Juanito Carlito Candido was a part-time security guard while training to be a word processor. An avid bodybuilder, he won Mr. North Bronx Universe.

(Ghost Rider III#70) - While shopping in Little Luz's Bronx Girl Bodega, Juanito Carlito Candido spotted a shoplifter. Still in his security guard uniform, Candido lifted the shoplifter off the ground and sternly reminded the kid that cookies were bad for his health, especially if he was caught stealing. Candido then reminded the kid that he was lucky Candido didn't call the police on him and then allowed the shoplifter to leave. Candido then reminded Luz Santos, owner of the Bodega, to keep an eye on her merchandise before bumping into Dan Ketch, who was purchasing groceries. Dan apologized but an annoyed Candido reminded Dan that he was standing there. When Luz Santos informed Dan Ketch that he was 27 cents short on his groceries and rudely asked if he had run out of food stamps, prompting Dan to angrily yell back at her, Juanito warned Dan to watch his tone. Annoyed, Dan left.

(Ghost Rider III#71) -  Running late for his college class, Dan Ketch ran past Juanito Carlito Candido on the street, prompting Juanito to yell at Dan to watch where he was going. Juanito then asked the nearby Carlie Colon what Dan's problem was, shaking his fist and asking that he could provide Dan with some bruises if that was what Dan wanted. Carlie told Juanito to leave Dan and commented that Juanito was only sensitive because he was on steroids. Candido quickly replied that he did not use steroids and his muscles were all-natural.

(Ghost Rider III#80) - While Ghost Rider battled the Furies in the middle of the Bronx, Juanito and Luz Santos stood behind a police barricade to watch the battle. Having earlier encountered Ghost Rider, Luz reminded Juanito that she had told him about the "demonio from Hell" and suggested that the Furies must be Ghost Rider's "demonic girlfriends." Candido replied that it looked like Ghost Rider's "girlfriends" just killed him.

(Ghost Rider III#86) - As Kirk Eden of Damage Control visited Little Luz's Bronx Girl Bodega, Juanito Carlito Candido was attempting to get Luz Santos to go on a date with him at a nearby jazz club. Luz's exclaims of being disinterested were interrupted by Kirk Eden, who introduced himself and showed his Damage Control ID badge. Candido grumbly pointed out that people could get an official-looking badge free with every $5 purchase at the local Chinese take-out restaurant. Luz hushed Juanito, reminding him that Kirk Eden was on official business. When Kirk explained that he was there to get eye witness accounts of Ghost Rider for Damage Control, Luz immediately exclaimed that Ghost Rider had tried to kill her twice despite Candido's comments that Ghost Rider had actually tried to save her twice. Luz continued, suggesting that Ghost Rider was after her pure, virginal flesh and that no one could take that from her. An embarrassed Candido informed Kirk Eden that he knew where Eden could find someone who had real contact with Ghost Rider and suggested he visit the former thug Toother.

In Ghost Rider III#86, Candido's skin tone seemed to be colored to reflect his seemingly Hispanic nature whereas in his earlier appearances, his skin tone was colored more African-American.

While it was not stated how Candido knew about Toother's encounter with Ghost Rider, it can be safely assumed that he either learned about it through his position as a security guard or, given how close-knit the Borum Street community was, he could have just heard about it from one of the locals.
