Powers/Abilities: Tul'uth was a canny demon who commanded a small legion of lesser demons. He had limited demonic powers, but could cast wide illusions and could fold space so that he could walk unrestricted over some distance. He could shoot green demonic energy from his mouth that would incinerate a human. However, he was obsessed with sport and competing for souls.
History:
(Strange II#1 (fb)) - Thirty years ago and thinking it a Halloween prank, the bottom-of-their-league baseball team, the Portland Loggers, made a deal with the demon Tul'uth that they would win two thirds of their games. However, the pact was not actually with the players, but with the home team. The Portland Loggers' success saw them move elsewhere. The Larks baseball team eventually moved into the stadium, the invested sorcery delivering success (and with it fans), and yielding considerable magic that would trigger a massive vortex and suck down all others in the stadium. The Larks' coach, Bill Kinmont, was aware of the pact.
(Strange II#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tul'uth arrived to collect on the debt, having cast a large illusion so that the people in the stadium could not see Tul'uth's demons possessing the visiting team, their victory ensuring Tul'uth's gain.
(Strange II#1) - Dr. Strange was in the audience and empowered Casey Kinmont with the power of true sight so that she could see the demons. The two rushed to the coach, Casey's uncle, when Tul'uth appeared, trapping the two in magical bonds before mocking Strange. Tul'uth offered to play for the contract, but then incinerated the coach. The demon then left to play in the field, but Strange and Casey escaped. Daring the demon, Strange offered to join the home team using no magic and almost lost the contract before Casey's timely magical intervention helped Strange defeat Tul'uth, freeing the home team of the contract and trapping the demon in a baseball.
