History:

(Fantastic Four Giant-Size Adventures#1/1 (fb) - BTS) - A long time ago, an unnamed sorcerer created the Terror Birds and unleashed them on his enemies so that they would consume his foes' weapons and armor. They continued to plunder the battlefields of Asgard and became part of Norse mythology.

(Fantastic Four Giant-Size Adventures#1/1 (fb) ) - The Terror Birds escaped to Earth during a fight between Thor and Loki, who was once more attempting to take over the Earth.

(Fantastic Four Giant-Size Adventures#1/1) - The Fantastic Four were called in to help deal with a flock of Terror Birds that were menacing and ravaging a small park, including pulling apart a taxi. The giant black birds then attacked the quartet, one knocking the Thing down, until Mr. Fantastic gathered them and the Invisible Woman held them in an invisible force field. The Human Torch then incinerated them from within the field, although this only left them stunned. Before they could recover, the Invisible Woman called Thor on her mobile, who then contacted his fellow Asgardian, Heimdall. The guardian of the rainbow bridge arrived immediately and commanded that the creatures return to Asgard, whereupon the unconscious birds were immediately thrown back across the bridge.

Comments: Created by Paul Tobin (writer) and Vicente Cifuentes (art).

Dinosaur fossils of what have become known as Terror Birds (or phorusrhacidae), prehistoric giant flightless birds that stood up to 10' tall, have been found in eastern North America, as well as in South America, and were potentially the first masters of kung fu kicking when hunting.

These Asgardian Terror Birds seem to be a combination of the prehistoric creatures and the vicious crows from Hitchcock's film, The Birds.
