(Punisher Summer Special#4/1 (fb) - BTS) - Tamri was employed to track down a very organized and ruthless army of poachers that were tracking down and killing endangered species of animals in Africa. He stowed away on a Liberian freighter containing the latest shipment of illegal wildlife goods, hoping to find out who was behind the trade.
(Punisher Summer Special#4/1) - Watched remotely by the Punisher, Tamri was discovered by the ship's crew. A violent fight followed with the Punisher's arrival stopping the fight. Excepting their leader, the Punisher let the other crew members go, and then told Tamri to ask his questions. Tamri and the tall, muscled captain fought savagely, but the trader refused to offer any names; he was killed by the Punisher in self-defense. Tamri then revealed his motives plus the cargo of skins and ivory of endangered species from around the world. The Punisher offered his help to secretly go back to Africa to track down the illegal skins dealers. The Punisher could identify with Tamri - one man against a mercenary army.
Three days later, they were near Nairobi when Tamri discovered from his network that the situation had grown worse with poachers doing short raids from across the border in neighboring Somalia. The two followed the trail of slaughtered animals, eventually leaving their Land Rover to enter the jungle and carrying minimal weaponry. Tamri stripped down to basic cloth and moved fast through the jungle until finding a road where they laid an ambush, soon trapping three trucks with two squads of poachers and a load of freshly harvested ivory tusks. Gunfire was exchanged; Tamri rounded up the remaining poachers who had surrendered while the Punisher pursued the warlord in charge, bringing his corpse back before Tamri, who declared that the war against the poachers would go on.

Tamri's home of Tasvo Wildlife Reserve is likely a reference to Kenya's Tsavo East National Park (or Tsavo West National Park - but this further away from Somalia where the raiders came from). Although poaching declined in Tsavo in the early 1990s, there are reports that this is unfortunately rising again.
