Powers/Abilities: Samson Rourke possesses superhuman strength and durability, but impaired intelligence. Prior to his mutation, he was apparently a skilled genetics researcher.

History: (Amazing Spider-Man Annual I#27/4 (fb) ) - Genetics researcher Samson Rourke was mutated in a lab accident. His father, Manuel, tried to help him, but he succumbed to desperation and ran away. He joined a street gang and became their protector.

(Amazing Spider-Man Annual I#27/4) - On Manhattan's Avenue A, Samson helped the gang rob a businessman until John Jameson, clad in battle armor, attacked them. As the gang fled, Samson tore off Jameson's blaster and started to throttle him, but Jameson got the upper hand and stunned him before slapping a pair of electro-cuffs on him. Jameson surrendered him into his father's custody, who promised to arrange treatment for him.

There was some intimation that Manuel didn't have Samson's best interests at heart, but it was never followed up on.

(Amazing Spider-Man Annual I#27/4) - Manuel hired John Jameson to retrieve his son. After he did so, Manuel arranged private care for Samson, apparently hoping to cure him.
