Known Relatives: None

Aliases: Rabo (see comments)

Base of Operations: Planet R-Syn (several million light years from Earth)

History:

(X-Men Unlimited I#21 (fb) - BTS) - During Lila Cheney's concert on R-Syn, Rebo picked up a sub-space transmission about an alien invasion of Earth and reported this to Strong Guy.

(X-Men Unlimited I#21) - Rebo watched as Guido pleaded with Lila Cheney to teleport him to Earth.

Returning after his adventure with his former X-Factor colleagues, which also revealed no alien invasion, Strong Guy confronted Rebo. The sound technician told him that the reports were still coming through and offered them for Guido to hear. Guido instantly recognized them as the "War of the Worlds" broadcast, an Earth-based radio show of a fictional alien invasion (see comments).

Comments: Created by Todd Dezago (writer), Andy Smith (pencils) and Andrew Hennessey (inks).

Strong Guy initially called him Rabo - chalk that up to his panicked state.

The name Rebo seems to an obvious reference to Rebo, the blue musician featured in the Star Wars film, "Return of the Jedi".

The "War of the Worlds" referenced in this story relates to the 1938 broadcast of H.G. Wells' classic science fiction story of an alien invasion. Although broadcast as radio theater , part of it was structured as a series of news bulletins, and generated panic among American listeners. This radio drama was broadcast on Halloween, the same occasion as Guido's panicked reaction, and so this issue marked the 60th anniversary of the incident.
