(Rawhide Kid I#19/5) - Crow Mallon was eager to make a reputation for himself as a gunfighter and confronted the Rawhide Kid from behind when he heard that the Kid was in town. The younger gunfighter refused to fight Crow but was punched down. Crow Mallon then arrogantly showed the Rawhide Kid his accurate shooting so that he would know who he was up against. Crow shot several candles on a suspended light, then several bottles at the back of the bar. The men in the saloon were astonished by the accuracy, but the Rawhide Kid was unimpressed, drawing his guns lightning fast, then shooting the burning wicks off the suspended light, before shooting the corks off other bottles behind the bar without breaking any glass. Fearful, Crow Mallon slid quietly outside and rode off at full speed; the bully had established his reputation.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee (writer), Jack Kirby (pencils) and Dick Ayers (inks).
Presumably "Crow" is a nickname or shortened form (of Crowley?).
