History:
(Namor the Sub-Mariner Annual#3/2 (fb) - BTS) - According to Iron Fist, Lopsang Gambo is a demon from some Tibetan underworld.

(Namor the Sub-Mariner Annual#3/2 (fb) - BTS) - When Chinese soldiers threatened a Tibetan monastery, one of the monks, Lhosang, sent a call for aid to Iron Fist (Daniel Rand-K'ai).

(Namor the Sub-Mariner Annual#3/2 (fb) - BTS) - When Iron Fist failed to show up, they summoned a demon from the Tibetan underworld, intending to use it as a servant to save them from the Chinese soldiers. After slaughtering the soldiers, however, the demon, Lopsang Gambo, slaughtered the remaining monks as well and claimed their monastery as his new home.

(Namor the Sub-Mariner Annual#3/2) - After Iron Fist came upon the final dying monk, Lhosang, who asked him to save their monastery from being defiled, Iron Fist entered the temple. Lopsang Gambo confronted him, noting that as a live man he was not welcome in his house and that only death lived there now. The demon slashed Iron Fist's side, shrugged off a powerful kick to the face, and then pounded Iron Fist back into a pillar. Realizing he could not defeat the demon and that the only way to preserve the shrine was to destroy it, Iron Fist concentrated his chi into a blow that took out the monastery's load-bearing pillar. The building collapsed, burying Lopsang Gambo, though Iron Fist escaped.

Comments: Created by Ron Marz, Andy Smith, and Brad Vancata.

This demon was identified in the OHotMU A to Z Softcover demons update.

Can't imagine it would have been destroyed in a collapsing building...

If I'd have named this guy, I would have picked "Ajnamok" - Ajna, from the brow chakra in certain types of Eastern mysticism, referring to the third eye...and Mok from Moksha, a liberation from the suffering of the cycle of death and rebirth, and is also associated with enlightenment, symbolized by the third eye...with the disclaimer that I know next to nothing about this type of mysticism and my info herein comes purely from internet research...

I'd guess the Drepung monastery refers to the Drepung Loseling Monastery, but I know next to nothing about it to confirm or deny. You can Google it for more.

Rings familiar to the Vietnam quote, "We had to destroy Ben Tre in order to save it." Presumably intentional.
