EARTH-83234

Type: Alternate (divergent) Earth

Environment: Comparable to Earth-616

Usual means of access: Magic (and presumably vibrational attunement)

Dominant Life Form: Humanity

Significant Inhabitants: Paul Same, Beverly Switzler, Arthur Winslow, the Baby Food Billionaire and his son Jimmy, Paul Same's lawyer, Arthur Winslow's business associate and bimbos

First Appearance: Bizarre Adventures#34/2 (February, 1983)

History:
(Bizarre Adventures#34/2 (fb) - BTS) - Jimmy ran away from home because his parents wouldn't let him live his own life.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2 (fb) - BTS) - Unlike Reality-616, Howard the Duck never arrived on Earth-83234.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2 (fb) - BTS) - Beverly Switzler apparently became a prostitute (or maybe it was just supposed to look that way).

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2 (fb) - BTS) - Arthur Winslow was possessed by Phelch, the Space Turnip. The monster was eventually destroyed, but Arthur's mind was turned to mush. He subsequently became the writer for TV shows like Dallas (or a show just like it) and Husky and Starch.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2 (fb) - BTS) - Without Howard to stop him, artist Paul Same slew an art critic (presumably Xavier Couture, see comments, and presumably while Same was acting as the Winky Man). Same was imprisoned and sentenced 20 years to life in prison.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2) - Paul Same's lawyer visited him in prison, telling him that ever since the trial and his publicity, his paintings were selling like crazy at high prices. Further, book and movie rights to his story were sold for $10 million, and the governor was talking about giving him a pardon. The lawyer then produced a contract for Paul to sign to finalize the deal. Paul was ecstatic.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2) - Arthur Winslow dictated the plots to the newest "Dallas"-type show from a large hot tub, drinking a martini with three naked women by his side.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2) - Beverly Switzler was sad when her boyfriend, Jimmy, prepared to leave her on the docks as his ship prepared to depart, noting that he's marry her if he could. Just then, a man showed up. While it initially appeared that the man was a mobster come to take out Jimmy for trying to leave the family, the man revealed himself to be Jimmy's dad, noting that Jimmy's mother and he had been worried about him. Jimmy apologized for running away, but said that his dad wouldn't let him live his life and that he couldn't come back until he did. The father apologized and agreed, asking him to just come home. As Beverly recognized the father as the Baby Food Billionaire, Jimmy proposed to Beverly.

(Bizarre Adventures#34/2) - Reality-616's Andy the Angel granted Howard the Duck glimpses into Reality-83234 to show him what the world would be like if he had never arrived. The plan backfired, however, as Howard's friends were all better off for having never met him.

Comments: Created by Steven Grant and Paul Smith.

This reality diverged from Earth-616 during the events of (Adventure into) Fear#19.

Paul Same's Earth-616 encounter with Xavier Couture occurred in Howard the Duck I#4.
