History

("Morning Comes Delectrode" story card) - Delectrode and his gang caused a blackout in the city, leaving bystanders confused. With the city in panic, Delectrode and his men robbed the city until Spider-Man took to the streets with a candle to light his way. Soon finding Delectrode, Spider-Man was blinded by Delectrode's flashlight device. Unable to see to fight back, Spider-Man remained trapped in Delectrode's flashlight beam until morning, when his eyes became adjusted to daylight. With the rise of the sun, Spider-Man fought back, punching Delectrode and knocking his flashlight weapon from his hands. With Delectrode's defeat, his gang dropped their loot.

Comments: Created by an uncredited writer and Win Mortimer.

There are no credits on the story card but the book, Spider-Man: The Icon revealed the artist to be Win Mortimer, who would go on to draw Spidey Super Stories.

Delectrode’s story card also revealed a 1975 copyright of Marvel Comics Group, meaning that Delectrode is owned by Marvel.

Delectrode strangely called Spider-Man "dearie" in panel 6 of the story card. That's just weird...
