History:

(Daredevil I#19) – Big Joe was among over a dozen hired criminals hired by the Masked Marauder, while the Gladiator stood by, to attack Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, who the Marauder believed was truly Daredevil. Big Joe and the others made their way to Nelson's apartment. They initially claimed to be reporters, but Big Joe grew impatient and punched through the door. The real Daredevil burst through the window, attacking the criminals. The others called for Big Joe to step forward, but Daredevil easily knocked Joe off his feet. Joe drew a gun to kill Daredevil, but Nelson leaped on his back to dissuade the shot. Daredevil knocked Joe out and Joe and the others were arrested.
