History:

(Spider-Man's Dream Girl! - BTS) - Lisa Skye was approached by a shy Peter Parker, accepted his advances and agreed to go out on a date with him.

(Spider-Man's Dream Girl!) - Lisa Skye and Peter Parker were sitting on a park bench near a bridge enjoying their romantic evening together when out from behind some bushes a gang of four street thugs interrupted them. Two of the men tossed Peter into the water and began to accost Lisa Skye, terrorizing her with their own ideas of showing her a good time. Peter Parker quickly returned in his Spider-Man identity and using the nearby picnic basket packed full of Hostess cupcakes tossed the cakes at the gang of men to divert their attention from Lisa Skye. Spider-Man then webbed the men up and they were soon taken away by the police. Minutes later, Peter Parker climbed out of the water and Lisa Skye cupped his face with her hand, calling him a poor dear, and suggested they find some place warm and cozy ...

Comments: Created by unknown writer, penciler and inker.

I wonder who this mysterious dream girl is that Peter Parker seemed to have an interest in. This story took place in December, 1981 and according to Spider-Man’s chronology, he was dating Deborah Whitman at the time although they sort of broke up when her old friend Biff Rifkin came to visit her. Peter Parker also had an interest in a new tenant from his apartment building who turned out to be the Atlantean, Llyra, who was using a secret identity and was a member of the Wizard’s Frightful Four. In 1982, Peter Parker in his Spider-Man identity, was involved with the Black Cat, Felicia Hardy. Since this was such a short story and Lisa Skye has made no other appearances it is hard to place her chronologically.

The group of thugs in the story were never given a name so I gave them one. Forevermore, they will be referred to as the Hostess Street Gang unless ...

Of all the Hostess villains, only Icemaster has shown up in an Earth-616 title. He could have crossed over to Earth-616 from "Earth-Hostess," but I say leave them on Earth-616 until proven otherwise. Nonetheless, until they do show up in regular continuity, they remain outside regular canon. Surely someone will write a story teaming them all together.---Snood.

This is not true anymore as some Hostess ad villains were mentioned in the Fantastic Four Encyclopedia as natives of Earth-616. And lets not forget about Printout Man in the New Avengers Most Wanted Files.

You can get the whole story, and some clever commentary from Seanbaby's The Hostess Page. It might not meet with the Comics Code Authority's approval, so kids, ask your parents before checking that out!

"Hostess Street Gang"

A group of four men seemed to be following Lisa Skye and Peter Parker when the two were out on an date and jumped out from behind some nearby bushes while the two of them were sitting on a park bench as they looked out across a river and a nearby bridge. They grabbed Peter Parker and tossed him into the water and then began to terrorize Lisa Skye with untoward advances. Spider-Man soon appeared, distracting them with Hostess cupcakes and quickly webbed them up till a policeman arrived and they were taken away. None were named in the story.
