Powers/Abilities: The Manacle is a large monstrous creature with many tentacles capable of holding several enemies captive at once. The Manacle can generate a negation field specified for each target's abilities, though only one tentacle can negate one set of powers at a time. The Manacle can automatically heal itself from damage inflicted on it by the enemy whose powers it is negating, but each tentacle is vulnerable to any other powers used against it. It is likely that the full extent of the abilities of the Manacle remain unrevealed.
(Uncanny X-Men#275) - Deathbird captured several X-Men (Banshee, Forge, Gambit, Jubilee, Psylocke, Storm, Wolverine) and had the Manacle keep them restrained. It pulled tighter whenever anyone tried getting free, healing itself when needed. The Manacle proved resistant to Jubilee's fireworks and Wolverine's claws, but released Wolverine when the claws and fireworks were used together. Wolverine realized that the Manacle could only counter one power per section and he cut Jubilee free. They then worked to free the others.
