Real Name: Kevin
Identity/Class: Mutated dairy product/mold hybrid
Group Membership: None
Affiliations: Peter Parker
Known Relatives: None
Base of Operations: Peter Parker's fridge
First Appearance: Peter Parker: Spider-Man II#21 (September, 2000)
Powers/Abilities: Kevin possesses the capacity for thought and emotion. He can also see, despite his lack of eyes, and perceive temperature, despite his lack of sensory organs. He is presumably delicious.
History: (Peter Parker: Spider-Man II#21) - Peter Parker presented Kevin, the sole occupant of his side of the fridge, to his roommate Randy Robertson. He claimed it to be a piece of superintelligent green mold he'd raised from a piece of limburger.
(Peter Parker: Spider-Man II#22) - Peter opened the fridge, pretended to talk to Kevin about Jimmy, who had allegedly dropped into Randy Robertson's icecream. Peter then took the icecream and ate it ....to save Jimmy.
(Peter Parker: Spider-Man II#38) - Kevin suffered in the cold and dark of the fridge until Parker opened the door, looking for a snack. Trying to attract the attention of Parker (who Kevin loved dearly), the cheese's heart was broken when the door closed once more.
Comments: Created by Paul Jenkins, Mark Buckingham, Dan Green & Rodney Ramos.
What terrible secrets could Kevin hold? Could the mold growing on him be the source of his sentience? Or did exposure to Parker's famous radioactive blood (perhaps while slicing cheese) mutate Kevin?
Peter Parker may know of Kevin's fantastic abilities, or he may just have been unknowingly joking, in a case of life imitating comedy.
God (or maybe Paul Jenkins) only knows what happened to Kevin after Mary Jane moved back in with Peter. Sadly, a woman's touch around the home may have proved to be the touch of death for the poor little guy.
Profile by Minor Irritant.
