History: (Inhumans III#5 (fb) - BTS) - Edson Jarzinho led a group of 1200 mercenaries, based out of Portugal, around the raised island of Atlantis at the behest of Lexington Mining Corporation, who were prospecting for Vibranium. The city of Attilan sat on the island, surrounded by vast defenses.

(Inhumans III#4) - Jarzinho was approached by the Soviet Commander Stalyenko, who was paying Jarzinho to marginalize his forces and lead an attack on Attilan's defenses. Jarzinho conveyed his concerns, knowing that the Inhumans possessed vast technology and superpowers, but Stalyenko insisted that he could beat them. Jarzinho authorized one of his mercenaries to launch the initial attack at the outer forcefield during a storm, though this firing was detected by Agent Peavey. Around the world, the situation was reacted to in various ways by many individuals, including Kryzstof and Peter, Kyle, Lupinski's gang, and Shirlene.

(Inhumans III#5) - Jarzinho led the Portuguese military in attacking Attilan, seeking to overload their defenses. They managed to do so despite a small group of Inhuman fliers that attacked them. Jarzinho came to the attention of the media and authorities, and Lexington Mining Corp. announced that Jarzinho was going against orders.

(Inhumans III#6) - When a group of Inhumans attacked defensively within tachyon fields, Jarzinho was worried until Stalyenko showed he knew how to disarm the fields. Jarzinho's troops continued pressing forward, wondering why the Inhumans weren't fighting back in greater numbers. The mercenaries released a story that they had started fighting because the Inhumans had downed an air craft, but the Portuguese government quickly denied the truth of this.

(Inhumans III#7) - Having launched the initial volley, Jarzinho and Stalyenko waited for the Inhumans' response.

(Inhumans III#10) - Alongside Stalyenko, Jarzinho continued to supervise the attack, watching his troops grow ever closer to victory, though more of the Inhumans' royal guard was attacking.

(Inhumans III#11) - Stalyenko began celebrating victory, and Jarzinho reminded him that that was premature as they had not yet won.

(Inhumans III#12) - Jarzinho was shocked when the Inhuman troops began retreating. When Attilan began to sink into the ocean, Jarzinho believed it was because of the heavy artillery, not realizing that the Inhumans had triggered the act themselves. Jarzinho blamed Stalyenko for their loss. Newsman Dave Jarvis reported about the sinking of the island. Jarzinho ordered the evacuation of the surviving mercenaries.
