History: (Monsters Unleashed#9/2) - Equinus was a centaur who dwelled nearby a castle inhabited by a queen, and he was often attacked by the queen's guards. One day, he was lingering near the castle when the dwarf Titan jumped on to his back, mistakening him for a horse. Before Equinus could shake Titan off, the castle's guards began firing arrows at Titan, convincing Equinus to take Titan with him in flight. Once they were safely away, Titan began to explain how he had stolen the blood-jewel from the queen.

As Titan and Equinus sat around a fire examining the blood-jewel, suddenly a three-headed demon summoned by the sorcerer Grithstane emerged from the jewel and attacked them. Titan did his best to fight the creature, but it was ultimately Equinus who proved more skilled, and slew the demon. Deciding that the blood-jewel wasn't worth keeping, Titan decided to return it to the castle. Just as he used his sling to hurl it back inside, Grithstane had completed another summoning spell, and he was assaulted by his own demon. As Titan and Equinus departed, Equinus angrily noted that his life had been put into jeopardy by Titan and he received no recompense for his work.
