EARTH-86501 (EARTH-KANG KILLED TRYING TO NUKE THE AVENGERS)

main image

Type: Divergent Earth

Environment: Earth-like

Usual means of access: Presumably vibrational attunement

Dominant Life Form: Gods, humans, mutants

Significant Inhabitants: The Avengers (Captain America, Colossus, Hercules, Wasp), Kang the Conqueror

First Appearance: Avengers I#267 (May, 1986)

History:  (Avengers I#267) - During the course of trying to destroy the Avengers with a nuclear bomb, Kang was killed himself. When he perished, Captain America covered him with a cloth.

Comments: Created by Roger Stern, John Buscema, and Tom Palmer.

This Earth diverged when Colossus joined the Avengers. This Earth diverged into another Earth, in which Kang had suceeded in killing the Avengers. The Council of Kangs said that this Earth was just one of many Earths with a Kang of their own and a set of Avengers their own. Presumably, Storm was also a member of this Earth's Avengers, though she was not seen, so it was possible that she was not a member of this Earth's Avengers. Other possible inhabitants of this Earth include Arnie and President Ronald Reagan (as they inhabited the Earth that diverged from this one), though neither were shown.

This Earth was only seen on a video screen.

Profile by Proto-Man.
