Powers/Abilities: Neither Carlos, Tom Chaffey, nor Bernie Tibbs had any superhuman powers, but all were skilled at their jobs.

History: (Avengers I#183) - While picking up the garbage outside of Avengers Mansion, Bernie Tibbs and his fellow worker Carlos had trouble lifting the half-ton of electronic scraps into their truck due to their hydraulic lift not being able to lift such a heavy load. Noticing them from his quarters, Iron Man quickly arrived outside to lend them a hand. He picked up the garbage himself and loaded it into their truck. As Iron Man flew off and Bernie and Carlos stood in awe, the Beast jumped the fence with two bags of garbage to add to the load. While they were dropping the garbage off at the New Jersey landfill, Bernie and Carlos met with Tom Chaffey, a sanitation worker for Ajax Construction, who asked if they wanted to head to local bar for a couple of brews after they finished.

 (Avengers I#201) - Carlos and Bernie arrived at Avengers Mansion once again. Iron Man, Thor, and Wonder Man each used their strength to pile tons of scrap metal into their truck, after which Carlos asked the other worker if they would get combat pay for that run. They then drove off down the street with their load.

To be more clear as to who is who in the main picture, the workers are (from left to right): Carlos (with his head turned away in the orange shirt), Tom Chaffey (in the yellow hardhat and orange shirt), and Bernie (his head also turned away, with the light blue shirt). I know I did a left to right when I did the real names up there, but I thought that perhaps some people might get confused with Carlos and Bernie having their heads facing away. So there ya go!

Now that I think about, I wonder if there's any connection between Carlos the sanitation worker seen here and Carlos the groundskeeper of the Avengers West Compound?
