History: (Marvel Vision#7 - Timeslip) - Steve Rogers was transformed into a super-soldier to combat Nazi forces during World War II, but vanished after only a few years in action. In 1963, he was discovered frozen in ice by the Sub-Mariner, revived, and became the leader of the Avengers.

The Captain's reality diverges from Avengers I#4.
Unlike most of the Timeslip creations, this one didn't have a specific backstory-- it was literally just Giffen's reinterpretation of the character as a "reflection of the glitz and glamour that is America."
