Known Relatives: None

Base of Operations: Pacific Ocean

First Appearance: Eternals II#4 (January, 1986)

Powers/Abilities: Bandrhude was a giant, at least 60 meters tall. His strength is undefined, but was presumably at some superhuman level.
His "mental singing" could create painful illusions in the minds of his enemies, taking the images from their memories and from scenes of their past. This power was less effective on telepaths.

History: (Eternals II#4 (fb) - BTS) - Bandrhude was an enormous monster created when Lemuria was a powerful empire and ruled a vast part of the Pacific.
After the destruction of Lemuria at the hands of the Celestials, the science used to create monsters like him was lost.

(Eternals II#4) - Bandrhude was employed as part of the vast Lemurian armada which was to conquer the Pyramid of the Winds. When the fleet was attacked by the Eternals, Kro ordered the fleet to unleash the Bandrhude. The purple titan woke up on the Admiral Ship, vibrated, pulsed, and then sang his painful song. Kingo Sunen, Ikaris, Ransak and Makkari were entrapped in their own memories. Sersi arrived on the battlefield and, using her telepathic abilities, freed her siblings. However, Kro and a good part of the fleet managed to avoid the Eternals and flee north.

(Eternals II#11) - Bandrhude was placed in suspended animation, as a million of other deviants, and underwent the brainwashing process which would have subjugated his actions to priests and Ghaur's will.

( Eternals II#12 - BTS) - The millions of sleeping Deviants were woken up. But the hundreds years-long sleep had effect on their bodies. After a while they turned into dust.

Comments: Created by Peter B. Gillis (writer), Sal Buscema (pencils), Keith Williams (inks).

Bandrhude could simply be the name of a "type" or "category" of monsters. In this case the Bandrhude seen in suspended animation could be different from the one used in the battle against the Eternals.
The legion of long-sleeping condemned Deviants turned to dust. Kro called them "living dead", he supposed that it was the collateral effect of the un-freezing of their bodies. The "dusting effect", however, should have affected only the Deviants "frozen" from years. If the Bandrhude was the same of the battle, it was kept in suspended animation for some days. Then, it is very probable that the Bandrhude is still alive.
