History: (Avengers I#24) - As Kang conquered King Carelius' 31st century kingdom, his elite guard commander Baltag asked for a moment, reminding Kang that their code stated that all conquered monarchs must be slain. Kang quickly reminded him that the rules were his to break but Baltag replied that other commanders agreed with him. He then tried to blackmail Kang into killing Princess Ravonna by explaining that he commanded the armies. Kang angrily gave Baltag one hour to fall in line and explained that Baltag should be grateful Kang did not smite him where he stood. As Kang left, the other commanders whispered that Baltag's plan to break Kang did not work. Soon after, Baltag and the group of assassins attempted to assassinate Kang. Kang managed to escape and in his absence, Baltag assumed the throne of the kingdom. After a short time had passed, Baltag's men were attacked by Kang and his temporary allies, the Avengers who quickly rounded up Baltag and his men. As part of his alliance with the Avengers, Kang returned the Avengers to the present day and just as they were leaving, Baltag fired a shot at Kang which Ravonna stopped with her own body. Kang's forces immediately opened fire on Baltag, killing the assassin.
