ZOMBIE of Ancient Egypt

Real Name: Unrevealed

Identity/Class: Human, zombie, Ancient Egypt

Occupation: Servant

Group Membership: None

Affiliations: Anubis; Ereshkigal; unnamed Egyptian woman; (formerly) unnamed Egyptian man

Enemies: Unnamed Egyptian man

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Ancient Egypt

First Appearance: Tales of the Zombie#4/3 (aka II#1/3) (March, 1974)

Powers/Abilities: As a reanimated corpse, the Zombie followed the commands of whomever controlled him.  Presumably, he would have been more durable than a normal human.

History: (Tales of the Zombie#4 (fb)-BTS) - The Zombie's history before his resurrection is unknown, but he died "young and by violence."

(Tales of the Zombie#4) - An unnamed Egyptian man created a wax doll of the woman he loved, then placed it on a grave of the dead man.  Praying to Anubis and Ereshkigal, the man summoned forth a zombie, and commanded it to bring to him the girl he loved.  The Zombie did so, and the man forced the woman to marry him, upon threat of death via the Zombie.  Some time later, the woman learned how to control the zombie and ordered it to control her new husband, which it did by choking him.

Comments: Created by Tony Isabella and Ron Wilson.

It's a one-page, seven-panel story. There ain't much depth. Would be kind of cool to have him show back up, and have him fight The Living Mummy and Simon Garth, though.

Voodoo dolls in Ancient Egypt. If that doesn't stand out, how about the man going to a graveyard filled with tombstones shaped like Christian crosses?

For some reason, this issue was labeled in the indicia as volume 2, issue 1 of the series, but has since become #4 of the series.
