SLUGGO

Real Name: Bernard Hoyster

Identity/Class: Human mutate

Occupation: Mercenary

Group Membership: None

Affiliations: Copycat (Vanessa Carlysle), Deadpool, Weapon X (Garrison Kane)
formerly Christina Valentino, Slayback (Terraerton), the second Weapon X Project

Enemies: Copycat, Domino

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Unrevealed

First Appearance: X-Force I#22

Powers/Abilities: Sluggo has superhuman strength and a lot of large guns. He's durable enough that high-power laser weapons can knock him out, but not for good. He may also have some mildly accelerated healing. He's not especially bright, though.

History: (Deadpool I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Wade Wilson, Garrison Kane, Terraerton and Sluggo went through "good times" (in Kane's words) during their time involved with Weapon X.

(X-Force I#22) - When Deadpool was confronting Copycat and her friend Tina, Sluggo appeared and shot one of the two down, then hoped the one he shot wasn't Copycat. Deadpool commented that he hadn't seen Sluggo in years and asked why he had shown up. Sluggo told him he was looking for Tolliver's will.

(X-Force I#23) - Sluggo and Deadpool threatened Vanessa in Tina's Norwell, Massachusetts apartment, but before they could get any information out of her, they were both shot from behind by Domino, who was with Hammer and Grizzly.

(X-Force I#24) - With Deadpool and Sluggo still unconscious, Copycat shot them both in the head and chest with a laser, knowing it wouldn't kill them, but would give her and the others more time to put distance between them.

(Deadpool I#2) - Still looking for Vanessa, Sluggo went to her mother's home in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He wondered how Vanessa's parents felt considering how Vanessa turned out and lamented that he could never have kids because he would fear them turning out like he had. After asking Vanessa's mother if she knew where Vanessa was, and being told she did not, Sluggo felt like a jerk for interrupting the old lady. Copycat appeared and asked him what was going on. He explained that everyone who was looking for Tolliver's will assumed that she and Deadpool knew something about it. She asked where Deadpool was and he told her. She took his cars, then told him that he was going to jail for breaking and entering into her house. He said that he hadn't done that, then she threw him through the window and told her mother to call the police. Copycat figured it would be a few weeks before he realized he was strong enough to just break out.

Comments: Created by Fabian Nicieza, Greg Capullo and Conrad/Candelario

In X-Force I#23 Copycat says to herself "Oh God, why did Sluggo do it? He used to love her..." Though we never get any more information than that on any prior relationship the two may have had. He also knew where Vanessa's mother lived (though even Deadpool didn't) and knew a bit about her parents, though he had never met them before that issue of Deadpool. He must have been pretty close to the pair at some point.

Another Weapon X vet who left to merc on his own. They have real problems with finding loyal recruits Weapon X does.
