The Saigon mugger loses airHistory: The exact origins of the Saigon mugger have not been revealed.

(Avengers I#131 - BTS) - Having lain in wait in an alley for a likely victim, this Saigon mugger misjudged his next prey, Mantis, believing her to be just a bar girl.

(Avengers I#131) - Despite the Avengers (Hawkeye, Iron Man, Thor and the Vision) being nearby, and it being broad daylight, the mugger attacked Mantis with a knife. She deftly kicked him back into some garbage using her martial arts training. He swung his knife around, but Mantis landed on his shoulders, and squeezed her legs about his neck until the mugger lost consciousness. He then fell forward with a thump.

Comments: Created by Steve Englehart (writer), Sal Buscena & Joe Staton (artists).

It seems that this mugger was left unconscious where he fell, as all the Avengers were occupied chatting to each other or Nomad (Steve Rogers).

"Saigon mugger" is a topical name, since Saigon is now Ho Chi Minh.
