Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Photon Disruptor broadcasts on a frequency that counters light waves, causing instantaneous blackouts.
History: (Iron Man I#174) - As part of an attempt to claim the many suits of Iron Man armor from Stane International, an LMD posing as Nick Fury had Jasper Sitwell fire the Photon Disruptor at the building where the armors were kept. Although the device ultimately overheated and shorted out, this diversion gave Iron Man enough time to activate the armors by remote, and send them out to the Atlantic Ocean for safekeeping.

Castigan was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who was assigned to assist Jasper Sitwell in firing the Photon Disruptor at Stane International.
