(Marvel Super-Heroes III#1/6) - Maire visited Illyana at Xavier's school and showed her the medallion Belasco had given to her when she became his first disciple. Illyana recognized it and listened to Maire's story. Maire wanted to become mortal again and she need Illyana to help her find the spell in Belasco's tower. Illyana went with Maire to the tower and they were attacked by demons which Illyana fought off until they reached the tower. The tower's door was sealed by Illyana with a spell and the two women began their search for the spell. Maire nearly lost her hope when she saw the number of books in the library, but hours later Illyana had found the spell. Illyana started to cast the complicated spell and told Maire that she was not allowed to be interrupted because else the spell would disappear from the book. S'ym and other demons broke through Illyana's weakened barrier and Maire took a sword to protect Illyana from them until the spell was finished. Maire and S'ym remembered each other and the demon let others fight her. Illyana finished the spell and commanded the demons to flee, but S'ym tossed a spear at Maire and it went right through her chest. Illyana removed the spear, punished S'ym and teleported Maire and herself back to Earth. Illyana asked Magneto if there was a chance for Maire to survive, but the injury was too severe and Maire died the same day.
