History:

(Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - At some point Dominique became purchaser for the Jaded Palate, a restaurant owned by the vampire Xavier Rath. She did business with Newton Desiree, who worked at one of the large fresh produce markets in New Orleans. She became friendly with the Desiree family through her dealings with Newton and knew about their unwed teenage daughter, who had a nine months old baby. A week before she met Blade a man showed up (Morbius) and the Desiree family started acting on edge.

(Blade I#2 (fb) ) - One night he came into the Jaded Palate and the Desiree's got into a terrible row. Xavier Rath noticed how the Desiree's daughter Charisma looked drawn and told Dominique that the man was probably doing something to Charisma and that he was likely a vampire.

(Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Dominique got worried when Charisma looked sicker any time she saw her. One night she saw Morbius following Charisma like a stalker. She spoke to Charisma's parents, but they told her not to concern herself.

(Blade I#2 (fb) ) - The next time she saw Morbius he had blood on his lips before he knocked at the Desiree's door. A half minute later Charisma arrived too and she looked as she had trouble to stay awake.

(Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Dominique told Rath about it and he gave her Blade's business card, which a customer left behind once and told her that Blade could probably help her.

(Blade I#1) - On Friday night Dominique went to Blade's home in New Orleans and knocked at his door (or she rang the bell; we don't know for sure). She greeted him and told him that she didn't know how to explain to him why she needed his services, but Blade knew that she had trouble with vampires or else she wouldn't have come to him. She told Blade her name and they talked about his job as a vampire hunter. They went outside on Blade's balcony where Blade got Dominique something to drink and they continued to talk about vampire hunting while being watched by the vampire Yves St. Monroe.

(Blade I#2) - Blade told Dominique about his origin. Afterwards she finally told him about the case to him. After she was finished Blade talked about his weapons and then attacked Yves St. Monroe who was hiding in a tree above them. She watched the brutal fight between the vampire hunter and the vampire and helped Blade by hitting Yves with a chair. The vampire left and she couldn't understand why he didn't attack earlier, but Blade thought he was just curious.

(Blade I#3) - The next day Blade and Dominique sat opposite the Desiree's house beneath some trees and acted like a couple to watch the house without causing any suspicion. They started to get closer and talked about their favorite books about vampires and New Orleans. They left when they saw Morbius following Charisma. Blade told Dominique to stay behind because he didn't want to endanger her if the stalker was really a vampire.

Comments: Created by Don McGregor (writer), Brian Hagan (pencils), Sandu Florea (inks).

Was she just an unwilling pawn or was she working together with the vampires. Perhaps it would've become clearer in issue #4 which wasn't published.

This series occurred after the one-shot Blade: Crescent City Blue as revealed on the the intro page in issue #1. OHotMU Marvel Knights 2005 though placed it before Crescent City Blues.
