History: (X-51#2 (fb)) - An LMD of Jack Kubrick was amongst a pile of wreckage from the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, following a battle between the Red Skull and the X-Men. Machine Man, badly damaged, transferred his consciousness into the LMD until he could be fully repaired. The Kubrick LMD was activated believing itself to be the real Kubrick, with no memory of being Machine Man.

(X-51#1 (fb)) - The Kubrick LMD met with Dr. William Haines, Senator Miles Brickman and General Kragg about Machine Man as it searched for him.

(X-51#1) - The LMD finally returned to the junkyard it had come from, only to find the Brotherhood of Mutants there as well. They promised they wouldn't kill him if he helped them find Machine Man's remains, but once he found Machine Man's head, Post blew his head off. Machine Man's head then attached itself to the LMD's body, and rebuilt itself entirely as Machine Man.

(X-51#8) - The real Jack Kubrick was reassigned to the Commission on Superhuman Activities, and because of Machine Man's use of his LMD body, he was assigned to investigate a fight between the X-Men, Machine Man and Sentinels in Valhalla, New York. Kubrick spoke with eyewitnesses, including Peter and Jill Spalding, and learned how Machine Man had fought both the Sentinels and the X-Men before finally seeming to destroy himself. Kubrick met with Henry Peter Gyrich to deliver his report, and stated that Machine Man was gone. Kubrick hoped that one day he might learn what Machine Man's connection to him was.
