History: (Astonishing#47)
- Emily was scolded by her mother for playing in mud, and mother
threatened to not let the little girl go out on Halloween. Emily
pleaded with her, but after her mother relented, Emily got in trouble
again when she was discovered to still be up playing well after her bed
time. Later, Emily hoped to help her overworked mother out by washing
dishes, but she accidentally dropped them, breaking them all. Her
mother forbade her to go out on Halloween yet again, but after Emily
broke into tears, the mother relented. On Halloween, the two (who were
actually witches) rode their brooms in the night sky.

Clarifications:
Emily has no known connections to
Emily's mother, she worked 80 hours a week at her
job, and was flustered by Emily's constant ability to get into trouble.
She finally let her daughter go riding with her on Halloween.
