History: (Incredible Hulk II Annual#19/1 (fb)/[BTS]) – While carrying on an affair with businessman Jack Cameron, Rosalind Hunter planned and executed a scheme to kill her invalid husband Todd, by blowing up the mansion he was in, making it look like an accident.

(Incredible Hulk II Annual#19/1 (fb)/[BTS]) – Somehow, Todd returned from the grave as the superpowered being Lazarus and began a reign of terror on Hunter Technologies, which Cameron now ran since his death. He started with little things, like destroying crates and the like, but slowly upscaled his attacks to assaulting workers.

(Incredible Hulk II Annual#19/1 (fb) – While picking up an order of hard-to-find machine parts from one of Hunter Technologies warehouses, the Pantheon member Hector was attacked by an amalgamation of machine parts that warned him to stop dealing with Hunter. Calling itself Lazarus, the being reverted back into parts.

(Incredible Hulk II Annual#19/1) – Setting up a trap for Lazarus, the Hulk and Ulysses were indeed attacked by him. Lazarus easily defeated Ulysses, whose sword was then used by Lazarus to stab the Hulk in the leg before escaping. Later that night, Lazarus appeared in Cameron’s office and threatened to kill him. When Rosalind walked in, he grabbed her. Just as she recognized him as Todd, the Hulk burst in, and fought Lazarus into the parking lot. Just as Lazarus began to reveal the past to the Hulk, Cameron shot both of them, and the Hulk realized something was not right. Lazarus used his powers to try to bring the building down with Rosalind inside. When the Hulk jumped to rescue her, Lazarus took the opportunity to use one of his tendrils to grab Cameron’s gun, shooting the man in the head and killing him. Using a tracking device he had slipped onto Lazarus, the Hulk trailed him to a cemetery, where he found the tracking device laying on top of Todd Hunter’s tombstone.

(Incredible Hulk II Annual#19/2) – While spying on the destroyed mansion he was killed in, Lazarus saw his son Hank arrive and leave. Following him, he was attacked by the Hulk, who had come to the mansion looking for clues. In the meantime, some thugs who Hank owed money to caused him to wreck his car. Just as they were about to kill him, Lazarus arrived and blew the hand off one of the thugs before dropping a car onto the others. He then took Hank to a hospital, knocking him to the ground after Hank asked if he could borrow some money.

(Civil War: Battle Damage Report) - Tony Stark considered Lazarus as a potential Initiative recruit.

Comments: Created by Peter David, Kirk Jarvinen and Brad Vancata.

An interesting character, but limited in scope. What do you do after you succeed in gaining your vengeance?

It's never explained how Todd returned from the grave as Lazurus, but given his need for revenge, combined with Peter David's use of Satannish and other supernatural beings around this time, I'm guessing he's probably one of those guys that made a deal with the devil.
