Hazzerd was a brutal and bloodthirsty mercenary, not caring what his mission was so long as it paid. Once hired, he was determined to see the job done, and was angered by any talk of backing out, and more so by betrayal. Hazzerd had a particularly low opinion of U.S. Agent and Hawkeye.

History: (Force Works#12/2)- Hazzerd, along with his partner Troubleshooter, were brought into the nation of San Revilla to support the government forces in the civil war by The Advisor. They were to serve as freelance agents recommended by the U.S. Government, who had, through The Advisor, been supporting both sides in the war.

Hazzerd and Troubleshooter had been hired to locate and sanction the rebel parahuman unit known as The Shadows, and waited in the capital of San Revilla, Cuidad Revilla, for the arrival of the U.S. Agent, who had also been recruited for their mission.

(War Machine I#15/2)- Hazzerd, Troubleshooter and US Agent attacked the Preto Airstrip, and confronted Hawkeye and War Machine.

(Iron Man I#317/2)- While the U.S. Agent began to have doubts about his mission upon seeing Hawkeye and War Machine among The Shadows, Hazzerd, refusing to back out of a contract, began brutally beating Hawkeye, ignoring U.S. Agent’s orders. He recognized Hawkeye as an ex-Avenger, and claimed to have always wanted to take on one of the team. Unimpressed by Hawkeye, he repeatedly punched him, wanting his foe to admit he was “less than squat”. U.S. Agent saved Hawkeye by blasting Hazzerd away with his photon-shield. Hazzerd threw a boulder at U.S. Agent, berating him for being a traitor, but the Agent evaded his attack, and a second blast from his photon-shield knocked Hazzerd unconscious.
